Celia Cruz, a Cuban singer with more than twenty gold albums to her name, she was one of the most successful singers of the twentieth century. Winner of 3 Grammy Awards and 4 Latin Grammy awards.
Tito Puente
People often call him the first pure salsa musician. During the 1950s he reached his highest level of popularity and leaded Caribbean music such as mambo, son and cha cha cha, to reach a wider audience. Puente is often credited as “El Rey” (the King) of the timbales and “The King of Latin Music”. He is best known for dance-oriented mambo and Latin jazz compositions that helped keep his career going for 50 years. He and his music appear in many films such as The Mambo Kings and Fernando Trueba’s Calle 54. He guest starred on several television shows including The Cosby Show and The Simpsons.

Singer, producer and actor, has sold more than 30 million of albums in the world. He was also nominated for 11 Grammy Awards. In 2004 he received the Career Award from the Latin Academy of Sciences and Arts of the recording.
Hector Lavoe
Their album reached gold with his style and his love for Puerto Rico. His popularity within the tropical music was so great that Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez took the story of his life to make a movie.
Rubén Blades
He has recorded over twenty albums and has participated as a guest on over 15 recordings with various artists of different genres and trends. He has also received six Grammy awards.
Frankie Ruiz
Known as’ the father of salsa. In 1986, at the Billboard Award to Latin Music his album “Solista pero no solo” won the award for best album and is one of the best selling Latin albums in the 80s.
Benny More
He was a Cuban singer and composer, considered by many the most important singer of Cuban history. Moré was a master in all genres of Cuban music, like son , mambo, bolero, “guaracha”, cha cha cha, Afro-Cuban and “guaguanco”.
Johnny Pacheco
Famous for making the ‘Pachanga’ a musical style popular in various parts of the world, is one of the greatest musicians of salsa with international recognition. Among his accomplishments is being the first Latino to receive a producer award from the Academy of Sciences of Recording Arts from the Governor of New York City in 1966.
Oscar D’Leon
From Venezuela, “The Sonero of the World” or “Main Sonero” is famous for his salsa music and is recognized as one of the best singers of Caribbean music.
Marc Anthony
Recognized as the “king of salsa” by The New York Times, Marc Anthony is one of the most successful Latin recording has succeeded with the ‘crossover’. Not only he is a singer and composer of salsa music, but has also achieved fame with romantic ballads, pop songs and even tango.
Jose Alberto El Canario
He is a privileged artist with a unique style; he also is a master improviser. Victor Manuelle
He’s one of the most popular salsa performers of the recent years. Known as the ‘Sonero of the youth’, has occupied the top ranks of popularity in the Latin Album chart with two albums: ‘Instinto y Deseo’ (2001) and ‘Travesia’ (2004).
La India
Representing women in gender, India is known as the “Princess of Salsa”, and her songs were nominated for Grammy awards in 2003 and 2004 for Best Salsa Album and Best Tropical Song.
Gilberto Santa Rosa
Better known as “The Gentleman of the Salsa” “El Caballero de la Salsa,” is a singer of this genre as well as tropical romantic ballads.
Jerry Rivera
A winner of a Grammy Award, her third album, ‘Cuenta Conmigo” “Count on me’, was triple platinum in the United States, Venezuela and Colombia. It was the best selling album in the history of salsa.
