The Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra launched recently his new single “Bachata in Fukuoka”, the first promotional single from his next production that went on sale in June.
“Bachata in Fukuoka” recounts the path to the artist at the Japanese city, where thousands of people enjoyed his music. The city is the place where Japanese civilization was born and where the winner of multiple Grammy awards and Latin Grammy, was able to fulfill one of their dreams: to bring his music to Japan and make thousands of people dance as only he knows.
In the video, a Japanese woman gets a sense to travel all the way from the city to the beach. When she arrives there, she meets what appears to be a Dominican man and the two share a special bond. The music video was directed by Simon Brand.
Bachata en Fukuoka reached #1 during the week of June 5, 2010. Bachata en Fukuoka is the second bachata song to reach #1 during 2010 after Aventura’s Dile al Amor.
