Secretary of State of United States, Hillary Clinton, visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in northern Mexico City, where he received explanations about the Virgin, patron saint of Mexico and America.
From the afternoon of Wednesday, some areas were restricted pending the visiting from the United States. The rector of the Basilica, Diego Monroy, received her at 8:20 am local time.
Clinton, who professes the religion Methodist, received little more than half hour, the explanations of Monroy about the significance and symbolism surrounding the Virgin of Guadeloupe, was blessed by the priest and placed white flowers on the altar.
